It is Wednesday and I left home last Wednesday. As much as I hoped this would be a profoundly amazing spiritual adventure, it has come to fruition in an overwhelmingly wonderful way. Already. And I am beyond grateful it will continue for quite some time.
Today was a blessing because it was a short day, only 11.78 miles (though it was all asphalt and some industrial areas), and the town we are in is a great one. Sadly, we are a week shy of the full-blown umbrella project, but we saw some cool things and had amazing sushi at the recommendation of last night's host.
Our accomodation is a tiny house called “Bamboo Guest House.” It is clearly on an occupied property, but it is completely surrounded by bamboo and entirely private. We got to hang two days of laundry outside and nobody could even tell. We stopped at a grocery store and cooked dinner tonight, bought tons of fruit, and eggs that I then boiled at “home” to take on the road tomorrow.
We rested A LOT today, which we both needed. My hip is bothering me and I needed this break. We have two 16ish mile days and then will celebrate our 3rd anniversary with a rest day in Porto.
In the event that I don't get logging done in the next few, know that I will catch you up on Monday. I want to be fully present in the moment and not on my screen.
Cathie… Lincoln and I are enjoying your trip. Bless you for sharing🥰
Take care of yourself. If your hip is bothering you…perhaps anti inflammatories are needed… and rest.
Yesterday auto correct wrote the wrong word…,I wanted to say, “You deserve this pampering” and it said, “You desire”. 😂 Silly!
So happy you are with Al. Enjoy every moment. ❤️
Great to see you & Al enjoying this walk together and being present in all you do. Just remember why you’re doing this. I hope you can take an anti-inflammatory for your hip🙏great pics…..
